What Matters Now!

In the bible, it tells the story of Jesus when he came to visit Mary and Martha in the city of Bethany, this story enlightens the heart. ( Luke 10:38)

In this story, it brings awareness to how communing with God is just as important as serving him.

When Jesus came to visit at the home of Martha, Mary her sister was there too ready to receive him. They both were eager in their own way to show Jesus their love for him. Martha showed her love for Jesus by making sure everything was in place even up to the time Jesus arrived. Martha continued to move about the home. She appeared to not take a break in the preparation of Jesus visit. When Mary was found at the foot of Jesus listening to Jesus, Martha was bothered by that. Instead of telling Mary come and help me prep and serve the food, she troubled Jesus with her complaint. Martha asked Jesus “dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.”

Both sisters are doing what was in their heart to do and both acts are equally important. But what mattered at that moment and Jesus made it clear, Mary chose to do what was needful for her “Mary had chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her.”

Overall, what matters now is that in serving God, one should not neglect to commune with him and get to know him. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God shall man live.” (Matthew 4:4)

HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Life can deem to be challenging many times but, through the challenges of life one can stay optimistic. The feeling of defeat can be draining and the weight of a circumstance one face can end up being cumbersome.

Many are feeling pretty down and out about what is going on in the world and nation. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) that has hit the nation has made many worried and many are in fear. This virus is classified as an pandemic and is extreme. Unfortunately, this brings on feelings of despair especially noting the deaths that have transpired due to how it overtakes one’s respiratory system.

I pray and hope that many will stay optimistic about seeing better days. As we stay tuned to the news and other media channels on what and how we should go about our daily lives, let us continue to support one another and continue to pray for all who have lost loved ones and pray for a resolution. Keep hope alive!

DON’T GIVE UP

Life is a journey and each and everyone of us has our own to travel. In this life, many set goals and plans for their future. Many goals and plans that one sets, will have at least an obstacle or opposition that one has to face. When the opposition gets too heavy or overwhelming to deal with, you may need to take a deep breath and tap into resources that will help navigate toward a calm. Meditation is a catalyst that will guide one to think and relax, as well as, it will help one to make more rational decisions.

Many may be going to school for a career, or in training for a better position. There are teachers in classrooms who are inspiring their students everyday. There are preachers and pastors who are executing the word of God faithfully to their congregation every Sunday. Many will start their own business and there will be many more aspirations and dreams that will be pursued. Don’t give up! keep going, not only are you displaying positive vibes that exude to others; but from this many will see that there is hope and strength to receive from your disposition.

What I Did

What keeps me from not giving up, I go to God in prayer and I talk to him just like talking to a friend. I am then directed by the spirit of God to read his word. Sometimes, I don’t receive direction right away on how to handle the issue/s at hand. But, I learn to wait and examine/weigh the odds. I am an author and did not give up on my dream, it took some time to write, for I longed to tell my story in hopes that it will relate to many others who are or went through the same or similar circumstance. There is calm after the storm.

THOUGHTS ON MY BOOK

My book emphasize on how God’s redemption (recovery) is the only way that many can find victory over obstacles. I go into depth of how I submit myself to follow someone that was not on the path that God ordered for me. As a result, my path turned out to be a path of disruption which eventually also taught me how to submit to God for guidance. Fortunately, God has plans for you and me; He wants to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 17:7-8; 29:11). In my book, I speak on defining moments. From the Bible, I expound on Esther and how she became queen. She experienced a defining moment when she was taken from her home to live in the palace, to be of service to Ahasuerus, king of Shushan. Little did she know she was going to make a great impact to save a nation.

In life, we all will experience a defining moment. A defining moment can help one to be more assertive, as a result, it will also lead one to help see self clear through self evaluation. How wonderful it is to come to a understanding of life’s different scenarios. Many experience defining moments at different stages of life. One who experience marriage, new career, accepting the Lord as savior, are a couple of examples of defining moments.

Think on a defining moment that has brought you to a clearer understanding of life and self.

HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?

There are many who say “You can be your own worst critic.” However, no one knows you more than yourself. For many people, the feeling of dread overtakes or creeps in when asked to describe or tell about self. I believe this happens due to the lack of really not knowing self. Could it also be that many feel compelled when asked to do so? I find that there are people who draw away from talking about their person especially if one feels forced.

For those who do have reservations in describing how they see self, take the time to evaluate self and examine life. In your observation, you may see how you overcame an obstacle that was hard to overcome. But, with the strength you thought you did not have, gave you triumph over the obstacle and that shows one has tenacity.

The link below show and tell of individuals who have pretty clear knowledge of how they see self.

REFLECTIONS

When I take time out to reflect on my day, week or life, I usually do it with the company of a hot piping cup of coffee. I always find myself to meditate on my actions and words that were done and spoken. I do this to further examine how I could possibly handle predicaments in a better way. Many times I feel circumstances that many find themselves in, may cause an aggressive but plausible reaction that may deem necessary for a sensible awareness.

Many choose to be better by reflecting on ways on how to be better. Those who are Chefs choose to improve their craft by ways of focusing on preparation of different recipes. Flavors, as well as, nutrition are vital in this discipline.

What Will You Allow to Abide In Your House?

My book is about when after making a bad life decision, I want many to know that redemption and hope is near through the word of God. I write about a personal life experience which led me down a road that was not conducive to what God’s plan was for me. Going against the grain, was what I had to stop doing. Not until I began to listen to reason and doing what was called for me to do in order to live a better life for me and my children, my whole being and environment changed for my advancement. My book also is collaborated with many scripture taken from the Bible which was and is a catalyst in my life.

This book is a great and inspirational read. You can purchase through Barnes and Nobles and through Amazon below/go to cite.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

The cost of undefined true love…….priceless. The love of family, friends, pets and anything that is held close and dear to the heart is deemed important that should never be taken lightly by others. The love held for an object that many may see as menial is cherished and it is fondly held in heart and mind. I was taught that everyone wants to be loved. There are many who have lost their love by some unfortunate untimely way. I just want to give words of encouragement…..keep moving, though it gets hard. Keep loving memories of loved ones who have past or who are far away from home alive, and I pray you be comforted with precious memories that will always stay resolute in the heart.

Life is a special Occasion

How do you celebrate special occasions in your life?

Most times, many who celebrate a special occasion plan on how they will do it. Many will spend countless hours and time in preparation to make this day unforgettable. On many special days, there will be many who will plan on using their finest china and silverware that has been buried away in shelves year after year to impress others. The china was never planned to be used other than for the special day. In regard to clothing, many will put away and save a special outfit just for the right moment or purchase an exquisite one.

I received a message from a young lady who helped me see life in a whole new perspective. She said to me “Isn’t life a special occasion?” In other words, she was saying start using your best stuff on yourself. Use your best china and silverware on yourself, Start wearing your best wardrobe out, on purpose, and enjoy yourself. She inferred, why wait just on holidays, birthdays, anniversaries….etc. Life by itself is a special occasion to live and enjoy your best.
